Information we collect
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. When you create an account, we collect your name and email. When you contact us, we collect any information you choose to send.
We use one necessary cookie to remember your cookie choice. If you agree, we also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies. Details are in Cookies and Google Analytics below.
Visit statistics
We keep our own simple log of visits to this site so we know which pages are useful and roughly where our visitors are. For each page view we record the page, the site that sent you (if any), the approximate location our host Vercel provides (country, province or state, and city), your device type, browser, operating system, screen width, language and time zone.
This log uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. We never store your IP address. To count visitors, we keep a one way code made from your IP address, browser and the date, which changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP. Bots are excluded. The log is stored with our host Vercel (Upstash storage), only we can read it, and we keep it for up to 13 months.
How we use your information
We use your information to deliver our newsletter and content, respond to your inquiries, improve our products and services, and protect against fraud and abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Service providers
We use trusted service providers to run this site: Vercel (hosting and our cookie free visit log, stored with Upstash), Sanity (site content), and Google (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, only with your consent). These providers receive only the information they need to do their job and are bound by contracts to protect it. Some are outside Canada, including in the United States.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing hello@helloassist.co. If you are in the EU/UK, you have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to object to processing. If you are in California, you have rights under CCPA including the right to know what we collect and the right to delete.
You can unsubscribe from any of our marketing emails at any time using the link in the email footer.
Data retention and security
We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide the services you've requested, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. We use industry-standard security practices to protect against unauthorized access, but no system is perfectly secure.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date below.
